The Rock Island Grand Prix is an independent kart racing event which draws hundreds of entries from throughout the United States and Canada, competing for a minimum purse of $25,000. In addition to being recognized as the world's largest street race, the Grand Prix is a social event of a unique kind. With thousands of spectators lining the streets, fans and drivers alike can mingle in The District of Rock Island, the official host of the Rock Island Grand Prix. The District features retail shops, a casino, comedy clubs, bars, restaurants, live entertainment, and a dinner theater all within walking distance of the host hotel.

The Grand Prix has hosted racers from Argentina, Bermuda, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, France, Italy and Mexico as well as drivers from all over the USA. The event includes racing in 4-cycle, 2-cycle, TAG and shifter classes, including the famed "King of The Streets" title, a prestigious and coveted title in the world of karting..

As a driver, it ranks as one of the ultimate experiences in karting. As a fan of racing, it's high speed racing a mere 10 feet away from your toes.
