Honda moto winners to get boost ROCK ISLAND, ILL. – Gearbox drivers with Honda power have a chance to increase the winners’ take at the Rock Island Grand Prix, the world's largest karting street race held Labor Day weekend. Presenting sponsors are AT&T and Casey’s General Stores. Honda Performance Development (HPD) has announced that it will support
karting in a big way in 2012 with a number of contingency programs including
one at the Rock Island Grand Prix. HPD is working with the Rock Island Grand Prix, Superkarts! USA Pro Tour, California ProKart Challenge, Northwest Karting Challenge and the World Karting Association to promote their Spec Honda classes. In total, Honda Performance Development will award $17,000 in cash and HPD Bucks to racers across the country. At the Rock Island Grand Prix, the King of the Streets winner will receive 500 HPD Bucks for the victory, as will the 125cc Shifter Masters winner should they win on a kart powered by a Honda CR125 engine. For competitors to be eligible for the HPD Contingency Programs, they must be a registered member of the Honda Racing Line Program with HPD prior to the events in which they hope to claim awards. All karts will be required to display two Honda Racing HPD decals on
the front nose piece and lower portion of the fairing. Those decals will
be automatically mailed out to each racer when they register for the
